LingoUnlocked was founded by Dr. Mohamed Khalif, a physician and public health advocate who has spent his career bridging gaps in healthcare and community services. Before launching LingoUnlocked, Dr. Khalif founded the International Medical Graduates Academy (TIMGA), a nonprofit dedicated to diversifying the physician workforce and helping immigrant health professionals become licensed in the United States.
His work has taken him from community health centers to statewide initiatives with organizations like the Accountable Communities of Health, as well as large nonprofits focused on expanding early learning access. Across these roles, Dr. Khalif saw a persistent problem: resources designed for diverse communities were often inefficient, overpriced, and failed to meet cultural and linguistic needs.
To solve this, he created LingoUnlocked—a translation platform powered by artificial intelligence and strengthened by skilled human reviewers. This unique blend ensures governments and nonprofits can access translations that are not only affordable and fast, but also culturally appropriate, accurate in tone, and meaningful in sentiment. By combining technology with human expertise, LingoUnlocked helps agencies and organizations communicate effectively and serve diverse communities with excellence.
